ECOVATIONS: Educational Green Signage

The story of Muse School begins in 2005 with Suzy Cameron, a passionate world traveler and mother of five.  Suzy had watched her older children struggle with the confines of traditional school philosophies, and sought an alternative option for the confines of traditional school philosophies, and sought an alternative option for her then 5 year old.  She looked for an educational environment that would foster independence, creativity awareness, and community, but found nothing that met her ideals.  Rebecca, Suzy’s sister, a past collaborator in child- centered schools, who has both education and experience in psychology, education, child development, and teaching came to collaborate on a new idea.  Together, the sisters decided they could – and should build a school that fit a forward –thinking.

Darren Moore, owner and founder of Ecovations, brought AoSA onto this project.  As Ecovations impacts and inspires through smart, healthy, valuable building and lifestyle practices AoSA was excited to contribute.  AoSA was hired to create signage that would help educate the children and anyone who would enter the school site.  AoSA was able to do this project on such a high level of consciousness using all the best green practices there are in the print production process.  AoSA used all domestic materials using metals and tempered glass plexi.   The Ink can be wiped off and reused.  The Signage included MUSE’s commitment to sustainability, energy conservation and the education of the importance of reusable materials, and waste management.

HOW THE CHANGE WAS MADE

AoSA was thrilled to take part in the education of such a revolutionary school.  At Muse the children are equally committed to respecting and understanding their home, the earth we occupy and share by living in the most sustainable ways possible.  MUSE brings “being green” to a new level in education.  AoSA is extremely proud to help contribute to the education of the students at MUSE.  AoSA,  MUSE, and Ecovations together will continue to support a sustainable ecology for our children and our children’s children by choosing sustainable.
